5 ways
to youth
Applying the benefits of
aesthetic medicine makes the quality of the skin better. And that really
gives the effect of rejuvenation. The best ways to rejuvenation - says Dr.
Mariusz Kaczorowski.
The patient comes to
you and says, "I want to look younger." Do you have any proven
methods that really work?
It all depends on the
age and condition of the patient's skin. But actually, aesthetic medicine
has its own ways.
What?
One of such
tried-and-tested treatments is injection of botulinum toxin type A - an
irreplaceable remedy for mimic wrinkles.
Botox applies only to
wrinkles?
Not only. This
drug is used in many fields of medicine - neurology, urology, gynecology,
proctology, ophthalmology. In aesthetic medicine it is an ideal way to
eliminate wrinkles of mimic origin. The effect lasts for about half a year. Botox
is also the number one in the treatment of hyperhidrosis - for example,
armpits, hands and feet. It is also used to treat
bruxism. Overgenerated rumen are the cause of serious discomfort -
overloading of the chewing apparatus, which can cause problems with the teeth
and gums and other disorders in the temporomandibular joint. People with
bruxism squeeze their teeth and grit their teeth. Several injections of
botulinum toxin into a powerful rumen muscle cause it stops being overreactive. Botulina
is also used to treat migraines. In this case, the muscles of the face and
the head relax the botox, which causes the pain responsible for
migraine. The effect of this blockage of nerve endings lasts from four to
six months.
When to start to
inject botox? After forty years?
Young people with
excessive mimicry, those who want to avoid the appearance of wrinkles, are more
and more often appearing at this procedure. It is much better to act
prophylactically, because the fight against wrinkles, which are already fixed,
is heavier. However, each problem should be approached individually -
consultation with aesthetic medicine doctor will allow you to identify skin
problems and expectations of the patient and to implement reasonable
conduct. And the adventure with aesthetic medicine can be started at any
age, both at the age of 25 and after the age of seventy.
So Botox has some side
effects? There may be complications?
If the procedure is
performed by an authorized person, i.e. a doctor, because only the doctors can
perform this procedure and the patient follows the instructions, no
complications occur. It is important that you do not run for about five
hours after surgery, run, drink alcohol, do not lie down, do not lean forward,
so as not to dislocate the botulinum toxin.
What else can
rejuvenate us?
Hyaluronic
acid. This is my procedure number two. With age and the aging
process, we lose it in the skin. All cavities that arise in it - wrinkles,
furrows, loss of volume - we can supplement with acid. It is important
that the preparation is properly selected for the problem, site of
administration and age of the patient.
Can there be any other
nasty surprises?
Poor deposition of the
acid can cause various complications - deterioration of appearance,
asymmetries, acid leakage, irregularities, hematomas, abscesses, inflammatory
processes. Incorrectly administered hyaluronic acid can lead to very
serious complications, e.g., blocking one of the blood vessels on the face, and
consequently even to necrosis of the skin area. Therefore, it is important
that such treatments are performed by authorized and experienced persons.
So aesthetic medicine
doctors, not a beautician, for example. Have you met with such cases?
Patients often report
and ask for the unsuitable acid to be dissolved, most often by unauthorized
persons.
What can you do with
hyaluronic acid?
I can supplement the
volume of the cheekbones, temples, fill the nasolabial folds, eliminate the
marionette line and the valley of tears, revitalize and enlarge the labial red,
make the correction of the nose, the mandible line. Give the beard the
right shape.
For how long does this
treatment last? After all, every spell is broken ...
Good preparations of
hyaluronic acid give effect lasting about a year, and even up to one and a
half. Patient's lifestyle, drinking adequate amount of water, eating
habits, avoiding exposure to solar radiation and non-smoking cigarettes are of
great importance.
Is hyaluronic acid
used only for fillings?
No, in smaller
concentrations also for mesotherapy treatments. This is another
irreplaceable treatment of aesthetic medicine. It consists in making a lot
of small punctures on the skin of the face, neck, cleavage or hand; we
give the preparation in small deposits close to each other. Therefore, if
the patient says that she had ten pricks on one side and ten on the other, I
would argue that it was not good mesotherapy.
And what do you
inject?
In mesotherapy, I am a
fan of administering dense hyaluronic acid in a concentration of 18 mg /
ml. Enriched with calcium hydroxyapatite, it also affects the skin's
density and the ability to produce collagen, while the addition of glycerol
causes the skin to be well hydrated even longer. It is important that the
preparation is properly administered, at the appropriate depth and in an
appropriate amount, then mesotherapy will certainly be a satisfying and safe
treatment.
And if there is a more
serious case than just dehydration of the skin and such simple treatments are
not enough, what do you propose?
Thread. Simply
put, they can be divided into two categories: revitalizing, which do not have
hooks, and lifting threads. Around each thread established in the skin
stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. If we put a few, a
dozen or several tens of these threads, the skin creates a kind of frame - a
scaffolding that stably supports the skin. They are most often used to
improve the face oval, puppet furrow folds, cheeks, eye area and upper lip - to
reduce the so-called. smoker's lines. They can also be successfully
used on the neck, neckline and other parts of the body, eg on the stomach or
knees. Threads of the second type - lifting - are equipped with systems of
hooks or cones. That's why they can lift the tissue. There are also
two groups here - bio-absorbable and insoluble threads, i.e. such
implants, which are 5-7 years old. In the case of soluble lifting
threads, the effect lasts from one to two and a half years.
What exactly are the
lifting threads used for?
Usually, we use them
when we have a problem with the falling oval, with "hamsters", when
we want to raise eyebrows or pull the skin of the neck. With only one
thread you can lift the tip of the nose so that it is more
upturned. Threads are also used to lift small breasts, buttocks.
Do you still have a
surgery up your sleeve? For someone who is afraid of pricking or
threading?
Yes. This is HIFU
- magical four letters that mean treatment with high frequency waves. This
is a facelift without a scalpel, another irreplaceable tool of aesthetic
medicine.
How does HIFU work?
The focused ultrasound
waves induce points of coagulation in the SMAS layer, all layers of the skin
and in the subcutaneous tissue. The treatment, without disturbing the
continuity of the skin, stimulates and initiates repair processes, the effect
of which is rejuvenation, improving the tension and appearance of the
skin. We can do it all year round, it is not painful, there is no bruising
on it, and the redness that arises disappears within a few hours.
By applying all these
treatments, you can really turn back time?
Some of my patients
look 7-10 years younger than it would seem from their birth certificate,
although the way to move back time has not yet been invented by mankind.
